BIOGRAPHY

"Ooh, rock in big chunks. Bass and drums throbbing. A band who can genuinely go in hard, without sounding like they're developing a hernia while doing so. Look! It's a hard rock band who know what they're doing!" Review - fasterlouder.com.au

Here ye, here ye! Come all ye faithful and see the amps turned up to eleven, watch to tubes of the good ol' Marshall glow bright and forget about making nice with the noise police - the boys from Lowride are sure to keep the windows a-rattling, preaching and screeching all in the name of ROCK.

Hailing from the shores of SydneyÕs Northern Beaches, Lowride have been treading the boards and rockin' the hoards since 2003. Weaned on the lifeblood that is Black Sabbath and Zeppelin, their wares have conjured the names Foo Fighters, Audioslave and Stone Temple Pilots for comparison, all the while creating their own monster rock force to be reckoned with. During this time they have pillaged rock venues throughout the land scoring key supports for bands such as Dozer (Sweden), Rollerball, Sunk Loto and Fort.

With musical integrity and experience firmly under their belts, in 2004 the band formed their own label, aptly titled lowriderocks, and released their first EP which was produced by the world renowned Phil McKellar (Silverchair, Sunk Loto). The single Upside Down received much acclaim, maintaining regular spins on Triple J, as well as having their video clip for the single added to Rage and MTV. Taking full advantage of the trioÕs energy and vitality transferred to song, Australia's highest rating news sporting show, Channel 10's Sports Tonight also featured the single. The track ÔFireÕ from the same EP was included on a Channel 9 promotion for the Getaway program. A selection of Lowride tracks have also featured on five surf videos including Steve Cooney's globally distributed Ulu 32, and on 20,000 copies of surf DVD iSURF. No mean feat considering the amount of bands locally and internationally vying for such exposure.

The Lowride boys have also taken time out to unplug their set and play acoustically. Their laid back versions landed them a show which was recorded live at the world famous venue The Basement and broadcast via the internet, exposing their music to an audited worldwide audience of around 750,000.

Come April 2007 Lowride will release their latest EP titled Pre-Medicated once again through their own label, produced by the legendary Lachlan Mitchell, distributed by MGM.
